Ways to Save while in a Vacation in Beautiful Fort Myers

Fort Myers was nationally recognized as a winter haven after the construction of the Royal Palm during the late 1890s and has greatly improved since, especially after the Tamiani Trail Bridge was built in 1924 across the Caloosahatchee River.

Today, the city is the commercial epicenter and county seat of Lee County in Florida. It is the main gateway to the attractions of the Southwest Florida region and offers a number of landmarks which include the winter homes of Henry Ford and Thomas Edison. It is a booming city that features great entertainment, a soothing casual feel and an amazing tropical climate.

Though the city was badly hit by 2 strong hurricanes in 2004 and 2005, it has recovered and still offers amazing attractions that tourists can enjoy for very reasonable rates.

Aside from the Butterfly Estates, tourists can also visit the nearby beach and local favorites like the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, Groove Street Grille and Discotheque and the Sanibel Lighthouse.
