The Idaho state Senate will consider legislation to legalize hemp that Idaho Gov. Brad Little said Monday, March 25, 2019 could get his signature if amendments sought by law enforcement officials are approved. The amendments seek to make it possible for officials to intercept marijuana, illegal in the state, without being stymied by laws that make hemp legal. (AP Photo/Don Ryan, File)
Delta-8 THC is usually available in distillate or tincture form. It looks like CBD distillate and mimics its golden, translucent appearance. It should be noted that the production of D-8-THC involves a multi-step process from extraction to decarboxylation. You can find D-8 THC distillate sold in syringes, cartridges, or small bottles.
How Do You Take D-8 THC?
You can vape distilled Delta 8 thc using a standard weed vaporizer. Suppose this is the route you want to go, then you can buy D-8 vape cartridges. Note that vaping THC is one of the fastest ways to feel the effects of the cannabinoid.
Some manufacturers also sell Delta-8 tinctures, also known as sublingual drops. These products blend D-8 THC and a carrier oil like hemp seed oil. You take tinctures orally by placing a drop or two under your tongue. The sublingual method usually produces effects within about 15 to 20 minutes. However, the effects last longer than if you vape THC. This may be a better option if you’re not vaping at all or looking for lasting effects.
You can also use a swabbing device to consume the concentrates. Gums and other foods containing Delta-8-THC are also available.
Whichever method you’re using, it’s best to start with a low dose. This is especially true if this is your first-time trying THC. People react differently to THC, so it may turn out to be more prone to side effects. At the very least, make sure you are following the recommended dosage indicated on the product label.
Will D-8 Appear In The Drug Test Results?
It becomes most likely as most drug tests look for THC metabolites. Delta-8 and Delta-9 THC produce the same metabolites. Hence, using D-8 products can produce a positive result, even based on hemp. With this in mind, it is best not to use a THC-containing cannabis product if you are planning to get a drug test. The risk of testing positive is still high, even if D-8 THC isn’t as psychoactive as Delta-9 THC.
Which Is Better, D-8 Or CBD?
Cannabidiol is another of the hundreds of compounds found in the cannabis plant. However, unlike THC, it does not have any psychoactive properties. CBD has no effects that could indicate any risk of abuse or addiction. Both marijuana and hemp contain CBD, but most of the CBD products are made from the latter. Again, this is because one shipload of marijuana contains illegal THC nationwide.
There are currently more studies on CBD than on Delta-8-THC. Because of this, much more is known about the potential health benefits of CBD. According to researchers, it can be helpful for pain, inflammation, anxiety, and insomnia. Cannabidiol is also the main ingredient in Epidiolex. This is the first and only FDA-cleared prescription drug that contains CBD in the United States.
With that said, the choice between Delta-8 THC and CBD is still yours. If you don’t like any “buzz” or “high,” CBD may be a better option. If you can tolerate these changes in your consciousness, you may want to try Delta-8-THC as well.
As far as available studies show, Delta-8-THC is less psychoactive than Delta-9-THC. However, that doesn’t mean you should use more of it, especially if a drug test is due. Not much is known about it yet. So, if you’d rather not risk it, consider CBD instead.
However, if you want to keep trying D-8 THC, at least make sure you get it from a reputable because delta 8 is legal in most states. Are you looking for more ways to improve your health? Then be sure to check out our other educational health and fitness guides!
